This is the AWS cloud you need

Category: Cloud

As we detailed on the VMware partner page, cloud computing is rapidly changing everything from how we back up mission-critical information to creating new applications. Cloud computing delivers online services such as servers, databases, software, and applications to people who use, program, and develop them. The clouds, there are more than one, are used to store and access data from anywhere in the world.

Companies such as Netflix, Airbnb, Adobe, and hundreds of others make AWS the most extensive cloud on our horizons. However, Amazon makes more revenue from AWS than from ecommerce, so what is AWS? AWS is an evolving cloud computing platform capable of mixing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).

  • IaaS
Infrastructure as a Service moves hosting infrastructures such as servers, storage, and networking hardware to the cloud, and physical machines may become virtual.

  • PaaS
Platform as a Service includes AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Microsoft Azure development environment, and SalesForce lightening are examples.

  • SaaS
Software as a Service is where a cloud-based provider hosts applications in the cloud, making them available to users via the internet. Slack, Adobe Creative Cloud, and advanced IT tools are examples of SaaS applications.

WTE & AWS

AWS includes more than a hundred services. WTE uses AWS for infrastructure management and custom software development. In addition, AWS is indispensable to WTE’s three-legged programming – Lego-like Code, Extreme Programming, and Agile Methodology, as described on our Services page.

We use AWS and other cloud partners such as Google CloudVMware, and Microsoft to safely code, test, and host websites, data, applications, and “virtual” servers.
