Stripe, builder of ecommerce infrastructure, signed a Series I fundraise of more than $6.5B at a $50B valuation the largest private round of fundraising in US history. Stripe doesn't need the Series I money to run their business, but wants to "improve liquidity" and help with taxes for employees and VC firms such as Andreesen Horowitz and Baillie Gifford.
