Twitter cut off API access and changed rules to bar "competitor" apps such as Iconfactory's Twitterific, Fenix has been pulled from app stores, and Tapbots posted a Tweetbot memorial. Third-party client apps like these made Twitter popular and friendly. Popular and friendly don't seem to be what Twitter is going for now.
