Technology, software, and social media can help Ukrainian refugees, help cure cancer, and feed and house those in need. WTE is a team of developers, marketers, and project managers who know the sum of our parts is greater than the whole. Greater because we give back and look for things more significant than ourselves to join, contribute, and assist.
Team WTE spends time donating, fundraising and raising awareness for charities near and dear to us. WTE Solutions supports our team's philanthropic efforts by providing paid time off to participate in and organize activities. In addition, we donate to our team's fundraising efforts.
For example, Erica's Reggie's Legacy, helping North Carolina's children, and Cynthia's fundraising for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to honor Martin's seventeen-year victory over CLL and to remember loved ones lost to leukemia. Martin's ride to cure cancer, his 3,300 bicycle journey across the country, raised funds to support curing cancer at The Lineberger Cancer Institute at UNC and The Duke Cancer Hospital.
Pateep collects thousands of meals worth of food for our local OCIM and Catholic Charities food pantries every year, and he hosts American Red Cross blood drives to help save lives. In addition, Eric helps children attend the Shrine Circus while sponsoring Honduran families needing essential resources, education, and support.
Our veterans and active reservists, Chris and former full time developer Ralph, fundraise for military charities such as the Wounded Warrior Project and the Gary Sinise Foundation. Erica and Rachelle run for several charities, including the Cupid's Undies Run benefiting the Children's Tumor Foundation, and both volunteer at soup kitchens and in disaster relief projects.
Spence and BJ host community events at their family's historic Christian Campground in Catawba, NC. They manage websites and social media content for several charity groups, and BJ delivers Meals on Wheels to those in need. Patrick organizes blood, food, school supply, and clothing drives throughout our local area to encourage philanthropic giving from corporations.
These are just a few examples of how we're all dedicated to giving back to our communities and helping others. And we extend thanks to everyone who sacrifices, assists, and seeks ways to help others. Together we're more intelligent, motivated, creative, and powerful than alone. Please find examples of organizations we've helped support, and use our technical and marketing expertise to assist below. If your nonprofit needs help too, please contact us and we'll find a way to help.

Our staff stepped in during COVID working with our local Knights of Columbus and the Holy Family Catholic Church in Hillsborough, North Carolina, to help the Orange Congregations Mission. In addition, Spence and BJ Wright, do amazing work in their local Charlotte-area community to feed those in need. Spence, our IT Project Manager, worked with The Cove (their church in Denver, North Carolina), to make sure those in need had something to eat, with more than 18,000 meals provided. BJ provides assistance to Meals on Wheels with weekly deliveries.
Erica Luntz, our customer support and social media manager, created Reggie Legacy to support families and children in Durham through the Durham Children's Initiative (DCI). DCI helps children from birth to college and productive careers with home visiting programs, early learning opportunities, out-of-school learning, and social support. With more than 2,000 children and 950 families served, Reggie's Legacy lives through every child and family.
Cancer survivor Martin Wescott Smith, our Content Marketing Director, decided to ride a bicycle across America in the summer of 2010. Martin's Ride to Cure Cancer raised almost $100,000 for cancer research at the UNC and Duke cancer centers. We helped Martin's Ride with technical support, websites, social media marketing, and donations years before Martin began working here. Martin's joining WTE seventeen years after diagnosis illustrates that cancer cures are getting closer.
My company walks our talk. If your charity, nonprofit, or NGO needs assistance, we'll find creative ways to use custom tech to help your organization house, feed, cure, and support. In the rare case WTE can't help after twenty-five years creating tech for thousands of customers, we probably know five people or companies who can.
Thanks,
Eric
